Making a Map with your DEEBOT 710 / 711

The DEEBOT 710 / 711 uses a top mounted camera to help it create map of your home or office.

To make a map, first connect the Ecovacs Home App to your 710 / 711.

Next, tap the AUTO button on the App, or the top of the robot - and let your 710 / 711 start exploring.  It will may seem like it's wandering aimlessly - and it is... but it's using its top mounted camera to scan you ceiling for landmarks.

Go walk the dog, or hit a taco truck - and come back in about 45 minutes.  When your robot has done its first cleaning (and mapping) it will head back to the charging station.  

After this first cleaning, a map is generated of the floorplan - you can check it out by tapping map button (see below).   Then, the next time it goes out to clean - it will know exactly where it is - and will efficiently navigate and clean your home.
